Save the Game™ led by former MLB Star Jeff Frye, Kevin Gallagher and Pat Geoghegan is a national movement designed to bring about change in MLB. The game has changed and lost its entertainment value with its reliance on the power swing that results in less action between home runs. Our youth are not engaged with MLB. The game has become too slow for this generation and we need them if we are going to Save the Game™ and grow the game! What Is Save the Game?

Save the Game™ led by former MLB Star Jeff Frye, Kevin Gallagher and Pat Geoghegan is a national movement designed to bring about change in MLB. The game has become too slow for this generation and we need them if we are going to Save the Game™ and grow the game! Why Are We Launching It?

Because we love the game of baseball and we care about it. Like you do. We want to grow the game of baseball. MLB has been seeing a continuing trend of record lows in attendance, TV viewership and fan interest over the past 10 years or more. A trend that must be reversed if Baseball is to stay relevant in this country. Longtime fans are dissatisfied with the new style and the new and younger fans are not interested in baseball. Instead, they are attracted to other sports and activities that provide a higher level of action and entertainment.

The average age of a TV viewer of MLB is 57 years old, which is 15 years older than other major sports, and as they age out, and move on we will need the current younger generation to become the fans, or customers that support MLB. But the younger generation is not engaged with the game sufficiently to be able to support MLB in 15 years. Baseball’s status in this country could be diminished! We want and need our youth to be attracted to the game of baseball. MLB cannot afford to lose a generation of customers.

We aim to Save the Game™ for the youth and grow the game to make sure the game is healthy and alive for decades to come.

The Problem

MLB has changed the fundamentals of the game to a power and home run first approach which we believe has significantly reduced the amount of action between home runs and reduced the entertainment levels of the game. MLB is in the entertainment business and they need to provide more entertainment … especially for a generation that was brought up on technology and fast paced activities.

We seek to align with MLB and work with them to restore the style of play of the American Classic Game of Baseball that provides a higher level of entertainment and that worked and was enjoyed across America for over 125+years!

How It Works

We will be launching a national social and digital campaign where we will gather one million digital signatures from fans across America registering their dissatisfaction with the product MLB is selling today. Fans and journalists everyday across America are complaining and lamenting the state of the game…But no one is offering any solutions. We are.

We have ideas and plans to bring to MLB. We will harness this energy of discontent from fans all across this country into one single powerful and positive voice that MLB will not be able to ignore. We will give the fan, like you a voice to MLB. A voice that says “We love the game of baseball and we want to see style of the game restored to the recipe that worked for so long”. A recipe of contact hitting, putting the ball in play more often, continuous action, strategy baseball that provides the level of entertainment and action that will attract our youth to want to watch the game, attend the game and play the game.

If MLB fails to change, they risk seeing decreasing revenues from TV contracts, gate attendance, merchandising etc , all of which are skyrocketing for other leagues and entertainment venues such as the NFL, NBA, MMA UFC etc. We aim to Save the Game™… and grow the game! Together we can.

Get Involved

Sign the petition on change.org. Our goal will be to collect one million signatures. We will need each other to get this done. We will need to share the message and the link to everyone we know across social media to reach our GOAL. TOGETHER, we will make History!

Current Support

We currently have dozens of current and ex MLB Players, Coaches, GM’s, Executives, Scouts, Nationally Syndicated Journalists, Radio and TV personalities etc. supporting the movement and ready to cascade to their Social Media followers to sign the petition once we Launch. And we have hundreds more we are working with to support the movement. BUT WE NEED YOU THE AVERAGE AMERICAN BASEBALL FAN TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN. Stay tuned… Save the Game™ is coming.
